Freeman Did Not Get a Rep in Scrimmage

Coach Randy Shannon decided not to give Kirby Freeman one repitition at Friday's scrimmage.

Shannon said Freeman did not get a rep because he wanted to give other guys a shot.

"All the quarterbacks are going to get a shot, like I said," Shannon said. "Today it was Kyle and the other guys get an opportunity and we're going to keep doing it throughout spring football."

Kyle Wright, however received the majority of the reps finishing 9-of-23 for 101 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Three walk-ons including: Matt Perrelli, Jake Byrne, and Jorge Fernandez received reps, while Freeman watched in full pads.

The trio of walk-ons were a combined 1-for-8.

"In the other scrimmage, the other three guys didn't get a rep," Shannon said. "Like I said everyone is going to get an opportunity because you never know who is going to help you."

When asked if it was to send a message to Freeman, Shannon told reporters:

"No, no, no. Y'all don't listen."

Miami concludes spring practice April 7 with their annual spring game.
