Super RB Plans to Visit UM

This out-of-state running back prospect has an extremely impressive offer sheet built up and he started his season very strongly last week. The talented runner talked about the recruiting process and where the Hurricanes are on his list. Has he been offered? Will he visit UM? Read on to find out all the latest.

At 6-feet and 215 pounds, Bowie, Md. standout running back Barrington Edwards opened his season with a loss last weekend, but he finished the game with 147 yards rushing and two touchdowns after lining up as a wide receiver for most of the second half.

"They're trying to move me around a little bit and give me more opporunities to make plays," Edwards, who has 4.48 speed, said. "I just want to do whatever I can to help us win."

Edwards, who has received several phone calls from college coaches this month, said said he's narrowed his list of college choices down to six.

"I'm pretty much looking at six," he said. "I'm still looking at Maryland, Georgia, Michigan State, UCLA, Miami, and Syracuse. They've all offered me and I really don't have a leader among them right now. I'll be taking my trips before knowing what I'm going to do or where I'm going to go. I'm just going to let everything play itself out."

The talented running back said one of the six is on the outside looking in right now.

"Syracuse is a good school and they were the first school to call me this month but I'm not one for turf," he said. "They play in the dome and I'm not sure that's for me. But they do have a good program and give me a chance to play early. I'll have to see."

Edwards said he definitely plans on using one of his visits to Coral Gables and UM.

"With Miami, I definitely plan on going there for one of my trips," he said. "I'm liking them more and more especially after watching them play. They really looked strong last weekend. My academics weren't too strong early on but I'm working on them and Miami's one of the ones I'm still looking at."
