In the series, Sobolewski hit his fourth home run of the year, hit two doubles, scored six runs, and drove in three. His 4-for-4 afternoon on Sunday highlighted his strong weekend.
The Hurricaned defeated Virginia Tech 11-9, 4-3, and 9-5 for their first ACC sweep of the season.
Miami is now 25-17 on the year with an 11-10 record in ACC play.
Dennis Raben also had a very good weekend going 6-for-13 with three RBI and four runs. He hit his 10th home run of the year.
Richard O'Brien earned the start at catcher in all three games and was 5-for-11 with five RBI.
Jemile Weeks (hamstring) started all three games as the team's designated hitter. Instead of batting at the top of the order, Weeks was inserted in the 4, 5, and 6 holes throughout the weekend. Weeks was 3-for-11.
The starting pitching was great for UM as all three starters went at least five innings.
