CanesTime TV: Wylie Commits to UM

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. - Joseph Wylie, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety at Boyd Anderson, has announced that he will be attending the University of Miami.

"Coach Shannon and I got along so well, it just seemed like a perfect fit."

Joseph Wylie chose UM over Florida, Georgia Tech, and Mississippi.

Wylie is the sixth commitment for UM and is believed to be the first player from Boyd Anderson to be a Hurricane.

He talks to fellow Broward County defensive back Patrick Johnson and UM commit "every other day". The two have a good relationship and will face each other in the first game of the 2007 season. Wylie remembers a call he got from Johnson on his visit.

"He called me when I was down in Miami on a visit," Wylie said. "He was telling me about the things he liked about the school and I was telling him the same things."
