Standout RB Enjoyed Fla. Game

This talented running back prospect has received several recruiting calls this month, including one from University of Miami running backs coach Don Soldinger. After an outstanding performance in his team's season opener, he attended the Florida/Miami game and offered some comments on that game and where the Hurricanes are on his current list.

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Apopka, Fla. standout running back Alan Abrams helped lead his team to a comeback win in its season opener last Friday night.

"They were beating us 20-8 at halftime,"Abrams said. "We weren't prepared for the tight end and he was making a lot of plays. After we adjusted, everything was OK. I finished with 22 carries for 222 yards and two touchdowns."

Abrams said he's received several recruiting calls this month.

"Pretty much the same ones," he said. "I've talked to Florida, Miami, South Carolina, Purdue, and a few more. South Carolina, Purdue, Indiana, and LSU have offered me now."

The talented running back thinks the Hurricanes are getting close.

"I talked to Coach Soldinger and he said all I need to do is keep putting up those types of performances and I should get one," he said. "I think Miami's closer than Florida."

Speaking of the Canes and Gators, Abrams watched the game live last Saturday.

"It was pretty good," he said. "The atmosphere was great and it was a pretty good game for awhile. Miami's defensive line was just too strong and they were the better team. I really couldn't say how that affected my decision. I like everyone pretty much the same - Miami, Florida, South Carolina, LSU, and a few more."
