Texas Terror High on UM

This talented pass rusher from the state of Texas is one of the most heavily recruited players in the Longhorn State this year. He's focusing his recruiting process on four schools right now and one of them is Miami. Read on to find out why he's so high on the Hurricanes and what he thought about the UM/Florida game.

At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Sugar Land (Texas) Dulles standout defensive end Tim Washington has helped his team to a 2-1 record so far, but it's been frustrating at times.

"I'm lining up as a defensive end and I've sort of gotten off to a slow start," Washington said. "Every snap, it seems like I'm getting doubled, held, chopped, or whatever else can keep me away from the quarterback."

Washington, whose team is off this week, won its season opener 26-14 before losing 20-10. They won last Friday 14-7.

The standout defensive end, who has an 810 SAT score, said the recruiting process is keeping him busy.

"I'm trying to settle it down a little bit," he said. "A lot of coaches are calling and everything and I'm starting to narrow things down some. I'm looking at Ohio State, Florida, Miami, and UT (Texas). All four of them have offered and they're all calling me every week."

Washington said he doesn't have a favorite at this point.

"I'm wide open among those four," he said. "They're all great programs and I like them all. I'll know where I want to go after my visits. If that's here in Texas, then that's where it'll be. If that's in Florida somewhere, that's where it'll be. Same with Ohio State."

The super defensive end talked about the Florida/Miami game that he wasn't able to watch.

"I know Florida is real good defensively so Miami must have really been good on offense," he said. "The Florida coach told me their defensive ends didn't keep contin and that really hurt them."

Washington also talked about the Hurricanes.

"The thing I like most about Miami is how they get after it real hard on every play," he said. "They're very aggressive defensively. I like their style of play because it matches my style. Miami seems like a good program to work out at for the next few years or however long I'd be there."

Washington has not yet scheduled any official visits, but it appears all four of his favorites will get visits.
