In-State LB Names Favorites

This productive middle linebacker has 24 tackles in his first two games this season. While he's been all over the field on Friday nights, he's been all over the phones during the week talking to college coaches. Where do the Hurricanes stand? Read on to find out.

At 5-foot-11 and 220 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Killian standout linebacker Stephen Tulloch has gotten off to a strong start for his 1-1 team. He has 24 tackles in two games, including one for a safety this past week.

Tulloch, who will take the SAT for the first time on October 12, told me during a summer interview that Miami was one of the schools that called him in the spring and they would be watching him this season.

The standout linebacker has received several more calls since Sept 1.

"North Carolina, N.C. State, Rutgers, Boston College, Florida, Tennessee, and Pittsburgh are the ones that have called me this month," he said. "Florida just offered me so now they all have."

So what about the hometown Hurricanes?

"Miami's still one of my favorites but I haven't heard from them yet this month," he said. "I'm not sure what's up with that. I like them, Boston College, Florida, Rutgers, North Carolina, NC State, a bunch of them. I really like the ACC and SEC."

Tulloch has already scheduled a couple official visits.

"I'm going to North Carolina the first of December," he said. "Then I go to N.C. State on December 6. That's all I have set up right now but I'll set a few more up over the next few weeks."
