At 6-feet and 185 pounds, Deerfield Beach, Fla. standout C.J. Koegel has gotten off to a strong start this season.
In his first game, Koegel had three punts of 55, 52, and 53 yards. In his second game, he had a 40-yard punt. In addition, he's been 10-12 on extra point attempts this season (one was blocked).
The talented kicker/punter, who is a full academic qualifier and has his bench press up to 300 pounds, said recruiting is also going well.
"The coaches have started to call here again," Koegel said. "I went to the Miami/Florida game and enjoyed it. Florida was very nice but I'm still a Miami fan. I talked to both of those schools plus Michigan State and Boston College, who came by the school."
Koegel is still waiting on a scholarship offer from the Hurricanes.
"The coaches told me after the Florida game that they're going to keep watching me this season," he said. "If Miami offers, that's probably where I'm going to go. While I'm waiting for Miami, I'm telling others that I still have high interest in them because you never know how things are going to work out."
The talented punter/kicker currently has five offers - Michigan State, Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, Ball State, and Eastern Illinois.
"Boston College said they offered another punter already and are waiting to see what he decides to do," he said. "Miami said they'll evaluate more of my senior film and get back to me."
