Kyle Wright Gets Interesting Call

The most recent commitment to the University of Miami received an interesting phone call the other day from another recruit. Read on to find out who called, when Wright will visit Miami officially, and how his season has gotten off to an excellent start.

While many people are waiting to see which recruits quarterback Kyle Wright begins calling, the talented signal-caller received one the other day.

"I got a call from Derrick Morse," Wright said of his future teammate. "I wasn't here to take it but I left him a message."

Could this be the start of another Brett Romberg/Ken Dorsey type relationship?

"I'm not sure," Wright said. "Hopefully I'll talk to him and get to know him better."

On the field, Wright has been outstanding so far.

In a 47-30 win in the season opener, Wright completed 22-of-34 for 326 yards and five touchdowns (which was the state's best for the first week). This past Friday, Wright helped lead his team to a 42-0 win over Pinole Valley (Gino Torretta's old high school). He threw for 105 yards and one touchdowns and rushed for 110 yards and two scores.

Wright, whose team faces another top 15 team in the Bay Area again this week against Freedom, said he's enjoyed the college football season so far.

"Miami looks great," he said. "I only got to see the second half of their game against Boston College but they looked real good again. I set up my official visit for October 12, the weekend they play Florida State. I can't wait."

Wright said he is interested in talking to other recruits that are considering the Hurricanes but hasn't actually made any calls yet.

"I haven't called anyone yet," he said. "But I definitely plan on doing that here in the coming weeks. I hear Andre Caldwell is something special in Florida.
