At 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds, Chino, Calif. standout defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis has helped his team to a 2-0 start this season.
"We've been playing pretty good," Ellis said. "I've been doing pretty good at tackle. I dont know my numbers though."
Ellis, who is a full academic qualifier with an 820 SAT score, said he's enjoying the recruiting process.
"All of the top schools seem to be calling," he said. "I talk to a different coach every night it seems. The schools I'm still looking at are UCLA, SC, Oregon, and Miami."
Ellis talked more about the Hurricanes.
"They were one of my favorites early on," he said. "I like them because they always have one of the best football teams. That's pretty much it. They were recruiting me pretty much all year but I haven't heard from them in awhile so I dont know what's going on there."
Ellis said he hasn't set up any trips yet, but is close to doing that.
"I haven't done it yet but the coaches are trying to set some up and I'll be doing that real soon," he said. "It's all going to depend on where I feel most comfortable based on the environment. If Miami doesn't keep recruiting me, I'll probably be staying on the West Coast for sure. If they do keep recruiting me, they're one of the places I'd like to check out."
