At 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West standout defensive lineman Brandon Maupin has been playing both end and tackle this season.
"We have a good team, but we're just not playing real well right now," Maupin said. "I've been playing mostly defense but I don't have any stats in front of me. I think I'm playing pretty well."
Maupin, who will be taking the SAT's for the second time next month, said his phone rings off the hook almost every night it seems.
"Man, it seems like everyone won't stop calling," he said. "I still talk to coaches from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Nebraska."
Maupin was asked which schools he's still currently looking at.
"I'd say my top ones right now are Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Tennessee," he said. "I haven't scheduled any visits yet but I know those will probably be three of them. I'll also probably visit Pittsburgh too. I'm not sure on the last one. I like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Miami, and a few others."
Maupin talked more about the Hurricanes.
"I like Miami some," he said. "But they haven't been calling me like the other schools. I actually haven't talked to any of the schools from Florida. I'm not sure why."
