At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Jasper, Texas standout defensive tackle Joseph Bryant has helped his team to a 3-1 start this season.
In those four games, Bryant said he has 34 tackles and six sacks.
"We're doing pretty good so far," Bryant said. "We lost once but we should be OK."
Bryant, who will be taking the SAT on October 12, said recruiting has been going "pretty well" for him.
"I still get the weekly calls from a lot of coaches," he said. "I still talk to people from Texas, Tennessee, Penn State, a bunch of them, LSU, Arkansas, and a bunch of people."
Bryant was asked about setting up any official visits.
"I haven't been able to do that yet," he said. "I guess I'll be doing that real soon. I'm still wide open. I still like Texas, LSU, Tennessee, Miami, a bunch of them."
So what about the Hurricanes, are they still recruiting the talented lineman?
"Miami called in the spring and sent me some stuff over the summer but I haven't been talking to them since they could call again," he said. "I still like them but I guess maybe they're not interested anymore."
