Earl Everett Sets Visit

One of the state's top overall prospects, Everett has scheduled his first official visit. Read on to find out what type of season Everett's having as well as getting his thoughts on the recruiting process and where Miami currently stands.

At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter standout running back/linebacker Earl Everett has been enjoying an excellent season so far.

After missing nearly two full games due to a high ankle sprain, Everett has helped his team to a 4-1 start. In three games, he has registered 30 tackles and three interceptions playing free safety. Playing quarterback on offense, Everett has 172 yards passing and two touchdowns along with 185 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

"We're still trying to get better every week," Everett said. "I played my best game of the season on Friday and they're moving me to will linebacker this week so hopefully I'll make even more plays."

Everett, who is scheduled to take the ACT in late October, also talked about the recruiting process.

"It's been going pretty good," he said. "The same ones still call every week and all that. I set up my first trip to Florida for January 17. That's the only one so far. I'm also looking forward to visiting Nebraska. They called last week and still want me to play quarterback. And I'll definitely be visiting Miami. We just haven't set those up yet."

Everett talked more about the Hurricanes.

"I'm supposed to be going to the Florida State game this weekend with one of my teammates (Eric English)," he said. "His dad has a house in Miami and we were going to stay there. Miami's been looking great and I've never been to a game there so it should be fun. I'll probably visit them sometime in January."

So does the visit to Florida mean the Gators might have the advantage?

"No," he said. "It ain't like that. I still like them, Miami, Nebraska, and a few more. I don't have a favorite. I just want to help my team win this season then take some visits in January. That's when I'll figure out what's going on."
