Campbell a Lombardi SemiFinalist

Calais Campbell has been named one of the 12 semifinalists for the 38th Vince Lombardi Award, given to the nation's top linemen or linebacker in college football.

Junior defensive end Calais Campbell has been named a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award.

The other semifinalists include LB Xavier Adibi from Virginia Tech, OT Sam Baker of USC, LB Dan Connor of Penn State, DT Glenn Dorsey of LSU, LB James Laurinaitis of Ohio State, LB J. Leman of Illinois, DE Chris Long of Virginia, OL Jake Long of Michigan, C Alex Mack of California and DE George Selvie of South Florida.

Through seven games this season, Campbell ranks third on the Hurricanes with 56 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks. Perhaps the most versatile defensive end in college football, Campbell also has one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and even a pass reception on a fake field goal. He leads the team with 13 QB pressures.
