Player Quotes on FSU

Following the epic battle Saturday with rival Florida State we caught up with several players to get their thoughts. We spoke to Roscoe Parrish, Willie McGahee, Vince Wilfork, Andre Johnson, Jonathan Vilma and Sean Taylor and they had some interesting things to say.

Roscoe Parrish (3 punt returns, 12 yards) on the field after game

"We pulled through. This team never gives up. We did everything right when the chips were on the table. That's the sign of a great team."

Willis McGahee (26 carries, 95 yards- 3 receptions, 78 yards) on the field after the game

"I told the boys that I was going to make a big play. We'd used it earlier but it didn't work. Champions stay with their game plans. And we did that. When you're surrounded by so many guys who believe in you it's hard to lose faith."

Big Daddy Vince Wilfork in locker room after game

"Florida State came to play and had us on the ropes, but we came up big down the stretch. This is what I expected and more."

"This might have been the wake-up call we needed. We might be looking back in January thanking the ‘Seminoles for waking up the Hurricanes'.

Jonathan Vilma (15 tackles)

"We had a lot of mental breakdowns that almost did us in. We did a lot of things to lose this game. But our players never gave up. There they were at the end kicking and scratching. I didn't think Florida State would be able to run on us, but give them credit. They really stuck with it."

"We have to go back and make some adjustments. But let's not go jump off a building. We have some great players on this defense. We just have to hang on to guys."

Andre Johnson (5 catches, 89 yards)

"A great game. One I'll never forger for as long as I live."

Sean Taylor (8 tackles)

"Boy, I need to catch my breath. There is still work to be done on this football team I'm not going to deny that. Our defense –myself included- can't afford to give up the big plays. We need to tackle better and fill the gaps. We still have some good teams on the schedule."
