Standout RB Plans to Visit UM

This talented running back prospect started getting calls from UM coaches in recent weeks and he talks all about why Miami is so high on his list now. Read on to find out why he likes Miami so much, which other schools are involved, and his visit plans.

At 5-foot-10 and 205 pounds, Moorestown, N.J. standout running back Albert Young is having an excellent season thus far.

In helping his team to a 3-1 record, Young has rushed for 810 yards and 10 touchdowns in four games. Inside the classroom, his 860 SAT score makes him a full academic qualifier. He also discussed his recruiting options.

"Everything's going great," Young said. "I have a visit set up to Wisconsin for December 6 and one to Virginia for January 17. I haven't scheduled my other ones yet but a lot of schools still call. The ones that still call that I'm interested in are Miami, Rutgers, Penn State, Boston College, and Iowa."

Young talked more about the Hurricanes.

"Miami started calling me recently," he said. "I was actually surprised because it's Miami. I mean, they're the best in the country so I was like 'Miami?' After they called, I thought to myself that I must be pretty high on their list so they're high on my list in return. Coach [Greg] Mark said they're still evaluating my tapes to see if they're going to offer me a scholarship or not. I sure hope they like it because Miami offering me would be great."

Young said one of the reasons he likes Miami is because of Coach Mark.

"I like him, and I feel very comfortable talking to him," he said. "He visited my school and then started calling me. He's from up this way here in New Jersey so that helps too."

The talented running back was asked which school ranks highest on his current list.

"My leader right now is Wisconsin because I like them the most out of the ones that have offered," he said. "I'm waiting on Miami now. That's the one I want. After those two, Boston College and Penn State are right there too."

So will Young visit UM?

"I'm going to try to set a visit date," he said. "But I'm just hoping the running backs coach likes my tape enough to offer me a spot on their team. I mean, that's Miami."
