OL Has UM Offer; May Visit

This talented offensive lineman has a scholarship offer from Miami and says he'll probably visit UM. Read on to find out what he likes about Miami, the chances of him leaving the area he's from, and which other schools are involved.

At 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds, Oaklawn (Ill) Richards standout offensive lineman Mike Jones has helped his team to an 8-0 start this season,

"We play our last regular season game on Friday," Jones said. "I've been playing right tackle this year and I think I've been doing pretty good."

Jones, a full academic qualifier, also talked about the recruiting process.

"A lot of schools are still in it," he said. "The only two trips I've set up at to Tennessee and Michigan. Those are the only two I know for sure. I'm also still looking at Notre Dame, Miami, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Iowa. I'll decide on my other three from those schools right there."

Jones said he receives weekly phone calls from all of his favorites, including Miami.

"Coach Kehoe actually came by the school last Monday," he said. "He came by here in May and told me on the phone back then that he would like to offer me. Then about a month ago, Coach Coker called and did so. I was happy because Miami's a great school. I really like Miami and I'll probably take a visit there. In fact, I'll probably set it up with Kehoe when he calls again. They have a great winning tradition and I may someday be a part of it."

The standout offensive lineman was asked about a possible favorite and the possibility of leaving that part of the country.

"No one really leads right now," he said. "I'm not sure what I'll do. I'm looking at schools from all over. I haven't seen all of them yet so I have no idea where I'll feel most comfortable. It could be anywhere right now."
