UM Stops Recruiting WR

Previous reports and interviews have indicated, via direct quotes, that UM had been recruiting this talented wide receiver. However, read on to get his thoughts and how Miami is not recruiting him.

At 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, Stockton (Calif.) Edison standout wide receiver is a teammate of UM recruit Lynell Hamilton and he also likes the Hurricanes.

In five games this season, Jackson had 12 catches for 405 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, he had 20 tackles and four interceptions. Inside the classroom, he's working to become qualified.

"I haven't scheduled any visits yet, but a lot of coaches still call," he said. "Nevada, Utah State, Utah, Oregon, Arizona, a lot of them still call a lot."

Although Jackson claims scholarship offers from close to 20 schools, it's obvious he doesn't have most of them.

"I haven't talked to Miami in quite awhile," he said. "It was probably during the spring, but I still get stuff in the mail from them. I'm just trying to keep my options open."

Jackson said a UM coach was at his school last week, who was obviously there to further evaluate Hamilton. It's also obvious that Jackson is no longer being recruited by Miami, despite his comments on scholarship offers.
