WR has strong message for UM fans

Davon Johnson took his official visit to the Miami this weekend and came away very impressed. He had some strong words for Canes fans and you don't want to miss what he had to say!

"It was a great experience, said Davon Johnson. "It was a lot of fun. I was very impressed with the actual school aside from football. I liked the campus and the academics."

Johnson who is one of 5 receivers committed to the Hurricanes had a good time hanging out with his future teammates.

"There is a good atmosphere at Miami," said Johnson. "Anthony Reddick was my host. He is a real cool guy. All of the players were real cool."

The 6 foot 171 pound wide receiver got a chance to talk with his future coach.

"Coach Shannon just told me about the school," said Johnson "He told me about the academic side of Miami . He just told me to come in and work hard when I get to Miami ."

The Booker T. Washington standout will have a chance to contribute right away on special teams and wide receiver.

"I really want to contribute as quick as I can," said Johnson. "I just want to win. I am not worried about playing as a freshman. I am just going to come in work hard and rest will take care of itself."

Johnson went on the visit with two of his high school teammates. He gave his thoughts on how Brandon Harris and Thearon Collier viewed their visits.

"Brandon and Thearon had a good time, said Johnson. "We all had a lot of fun on the visit. We are good friends so we talked throughout the visit. It was Thearon's only visit and he really enjoyed it."

Johnson who has also visited the University of Florida compared his experience a both schools.

"I went to Florida and everything there is on campus," said Johnson. "The stadium and all the people are on campus. At Miami it is a different scenery. If you want to go somewhere quiet you can do that. You can also go out and have a good time. You do not just have to stay on campus."

Johnson remains a Hurricane commitment after his visit and is anticipating the start of his college career.

"I can not wait to play college football, said Johnson. "Miami has great fans, and great weather. I am a Hurricane -- what more could you ask for. I am going to give it everything I got. I do not want to be compared to anyone. I just want to be one of the best players to come out of Miami when my time is done."
