Michigan has often had to overcome horror stories about the cold weather when pursuing southern. Many times those stories are enough to deter interest. Sometimes, though, prospects want to separate fact from fiction themselves. That was certainly the case for Pahokee, Florida receiver Martavious Odoms.
“I had fun,” Odoms said referring to his official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend. “I got to know the coaches, the players, and I got a feeling for how Michigan will be when it’s supposed to be cold. I learned about (the weather). It was alright. It was a great experience.”
The Wolverines are looking for Odoms to help fill the now pressing need at slot receiver. During his time on campus the opportunity for early playing time was made very clear.
“They said they definitely want me if they’re school,” Odoms recalled. “It’s up to me when I get on the field. If I work hard I’ll play.”
The Wolverines obviously acquitted themselves very well, but did they distinguish themselves from Odoms’ crowd of suitors?
“Miami, South Florida, West Virginia, and Michigan… they’re
pretty much all in the same place,” he said. “I’ve got to
think about how I felt at all of the schools and where I felt most comfortable
at. It’s going to come down to how I feel about the coaches and the players…
what type of people they are. Once I do that I’ll make my decision. Pretty
much everybody will know what it is on signing day, Wednesday.”
