4-star plans to be a 'Cane

CanesTime.com caught up with a 4-star prospect this evening and he told us that he plans on being a Hurricane. Read on for all of the latest details, you don't want to miss this.

Pahokee (FL) wide receiver Tay Odoms took a trip this past weekend to Ann Arbor to visit the Wolverines. However, he came back with some news that should excite fans of the Miami Hurricanes.

"I think I am going to sign with Miami on a track scholarship," Odoms said. "I will go and see (the track coaches and facilities) before I sign just to feel it out."

The offer for a track scholarship will allow Odoms (5-foot-8, 171 pounds) to now count toward the football scholarship total for next season, however, Odoms will not be allowed to play football during his freshman season.

Odoms had the following to say about the Hurricanes.

"I've been a Miami fan since I was growing up," Odoms said. "They have a group of wide receivers that I can relate too and get used to. I think I can use my ability there and make the best of it like they have done before me."

Odoms did attend his official visit at Michigan this weekend.

"It was good," Odoms said. "When I went to the stadium there was ice on the field and snow. It was the second time I was it, but there was a lot more at Michigan."

He was also able to sit down with Wolverines head coach Rich Rodriguez.

"It went good, he told me how I fit in their system and all of that," Odoms said. "He likes me the same for Michigan as he did when I was being recruited by West Virginia. They'd love to have me."

Odoms was hosted by wide receiver Junior Hemmingway.

"I liked just getting to know the players and coaches," Odoms said. "All of the school I went to are the same. I got to know coaches and the environment, they were good."
