Standout DT Will Visit 3

This talented defensive tackle made a commitment to the University of Miami several months ago and now he has three official visits ready. Is he wavering at all and how much of a chance do those other schools have? Read on to find out those answers and get his comments on the FSU game he attended.

At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Royal Palm Beach, Fla. standout defensive tackle Dave Howell and his teammates are still looking for their first win of the season.

"We've done a good job of beating ourselves at times this year," he said. "I don't know what the problem is but we have Lake Worth and Boynton Beach coming up so hopefully we can get in the win column."

Howell, who has eight quarterback sacks this season, also talked about the recruiting process.

"I'm definitely committed to Miami," he said. "But other schools continue to call and it makes sense for me to take some other visits. BYU, Florida, and Miami will be three of my visits and Tennessee has called a few times as well. But Miami's way out in front."

The standout defensive lineman said he had the chance to attend the UM/FSU game a few weeks ago in the Orange Bowl.

"It was great," he said. "I saw those guys from Ely out there and some other recruits. I loved the way the game ended. It was the best game I ever watched and I'm glad Miami won it."

Howell talked more about the Hurricanes.

"They're losing both their starters at defensive tackle," he said. "They're both graduating. They're playing a couple young guys but I think I can play early. I think I can play my freshman year so now I need to work out and run in order to get on the right track."
