Standout DT Sets 2 Visits; Likes UM

This talented defensive tackle talks about why he likes Miami among his favorites. He has scheduled two visits so far and also talks about the recent problems Miami has had on defense. They don't seem to concern him at all. Read on for more...

At 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern standout defensive tackle Cliff Dickson is having a solid senior season.

In helping his team to a 7-1 start, Dickson has registered 38 tackles and seven sacks. Dickson, who said he recently received a 930 SAT score, talked about the recruiting process.

"It's been crazy," he said. "I never thought people would call like this. I'm trying to schedule some visits so I can stop getting all the calls. I have N.C. State on December 6 and Rutgers on December 13. That's it for now. I'm open to everyone else that still calls. Maryland still calls, Minnesota, Miami, Florida, and a couple more."

Dickson talked more about the Hurricanes.

"They still near the top," he said. "I talk to Coach Shannon about every other week. I'm hoping they offer me because they're on top. Miami's going to win it all again this year. I've seen people complaining about their run defense, but it don't matter. If someone runs for 500 yards, they still can't play defense and Miami will outscore anyone they play this year. You can't stop their offense and that's why they'll win it all. But they'll get better on defense too."

Dickson, who claims scholarship offers from all of his favorites except Miami, also talked about teammate Leo Waiters, a linebacker that is being recruited by Miami.

"I think Miami talks to him through the school," he said. "Leo has the same two visits I have lined up. We may end up at the same school, I dont know. He likes Miami too but we haven't really talked about going to college together yet."
