OL Says UM is Too Far

This talented offensive lineman had been listing the Hurricanes as one of his favorites all year. However, now he is saying it's a little bit too far from home to be considered one of the favorites. Read on to get the entire story.

At 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Chula Vista (Calif.) Bonita Vista standout offensive lineman Russ Foster has helped his team to a 4-3 record this season by playing well on both sides of the football. Foster, who carries an 850 SAT score, talked about the recruiting process.

"Well, basically, I have my five trips set up," he said. "I have U of A, Colorado, Washington State, San Jose State, and Colorado State. Those are the ones that still call the most and the ones I'm going to visit."

Foster had been listing the University of Miami as one of his favorites since the spring.

"Well basically, Miami never offered," he said. "And I was thinking about it, too. They're so stacked with offensive linemen that I probably wouldn't get a chance to play right away. I hate riding the bench at anything and especially in football. I just didn't see a good chance for early playing time at Miami. They haven't called me in awhile now either. I just feel as if I have a better chance at those other schools."

The talented lineman said the distance was a factor as well.

"Plus, Miami's all the way across the country," he said. "I just didn't see things working out between me and Miami. They're a great school and I wish them well though."

Foster will visit WSU on Nov. 23, SJSU on Nov. 30, and Arizona on Dec. 13.
