A: I am just working hard. I am trying to get the team better. I want to get our championship status back. I am working hard to get us better.
Q: How do you feel about the competition on the OL and your chances to start?
A: You never know. I feel that I can start, but all the guys here are great players. I just do not want to be handed the job. I want to fight for it.
Q: How did the offense look today?
A: We did really well. We kind of started off a little jittery, because the defense threw some new things. We got acclimated after a while and started to make some things happen.
Q: How are the centers progressing?
A: Those guys are doing well. Any of the 3 guys can play. They are constantly changing the rotation and it is keeping those guys hungry.
Q: How does it feel to get the pads on and start hitting?
A: It feels great. I was just getting my aggression out. I just let all the all hard work I have put in on the guy across from me.
Q: How was the energy been so far in practice?
A: The intensity is crazy. We are starting with 1 on 1s instead of ending with them. It gets everyone heated and energized to start the practice.
Q: What goals do you have for yourself this spring?
A: I just want to do well. I do not want to have any busts. I want to do whatever it takes to help the team win. I just want to learn my plays and go 100 percent ever snap.
Q: How have the quarterbacks looked so far?
A: They are all unique. They all have a lot of skill. As long as they learn their plays they will be fine. They all won in high school, but now they have to execute here.
Q: How is Coach Stoutland and what has he taught you?
A: He is a great coach. He has taught me a lot. He has taught me that I can not be so aggressive and have to be passive at times. When I first came here I was so aggressive that I did not worry about feet well and I used to lunge and fall a lot. He has really helped me with that.
Q: What is your weight right now?
A: I am at 346 right now. I am happy at that weight. My strength coach says it does not matter, because I have put on a lot of muscle. I am running the same that I was at 320.
