Safety High on UM

This talented safety prospect said he might commit on the spot if offered by the Hurricanes. Read on to find out what type of season he's having and which other schools are involved.

At 6-foot-2 1/2 and 210 pounds, Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic standout strong safety LeRue Rumph is having an outstanding season this year. Through nine games, Rumph has 72 tackles and six interceptions.

Rumph, a full academic qualifier, talked about the recruiting process.

"I'm trying to stay in the state of Florida," he said. "I've always wanted to go to Miami but they never offered me. I always thought if they did, I might commit. But they haven't even called me in about a month so I guess they're not really recruiting me anymore. I'm still looking at them, Florida State, Florida, South Florida, Georgia, N.C. State, and Southern Cal."

Rumph has two official visits set up - Georgia on Nov. 23 and USC on Nov. 30.

"All of those schools still call except Miami and they've all offered except for Miami," he said. "I'll try to set up a few more trips over the next few weeks. I'm trying to take all five so I can make the best decision."
