Standout OL May Visit UM

This talented offensive line prospect enjoyed his trip to Miami to watch the Florida State game. He talks about where the Hurricanes rank on his list and provides an update on his visit schedule.

At 6-foot4 and 275 pounds, Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview standout offensive lineman David Overmyer has helped his team to a 9-0 record this season while playing on both sides of the football.

A full academic qualifier, Overmyer is starting to focus more on recruiting as we stroll into November.

"I'm still hearing a lot from Tennessee, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, and Miami," he said. "Those are the ones I'm still considering. All of them have offered me and I also like Georgia. I'm still waiting on them to see if they're going to offer or not."

The standout lineman has official visits lined up to South Carolina, Clemson, and Florida State so far.

"I really like South Carolina a lot," he said. "They'd probably be the favorite right now."

Overmyer talked more about the Hurricanes.

"I was liking them a lot early on," he said. "Coach Coker came up here to speak at a dinner I was honored at. Then I went down to the Florida State/Miami game and had a great time. But the thing with Miami is the distance factor. All the schools I'm looking at are within 3 or 4 hours, then there's Miami. They're still in the hunt and they still call usually every week, but I'm not so sure about them right now. I'm not even sure whether I'll visit but I think I will."
