A: The spring went real well. It was a good competition. Everyone is battling and trying to start in the fall.
Q: What were your goals this spring?
A: I am just trying to be the best player I can be. I am trying to do what they recruited me for. I am real focused and I have improved my technique, strength, and speed. Allen Bailey and me are competing for that left spot and we are both pushing each other.
Q: How are excited are the young lineman about the opportunity for playing time?
A: We are real excited. We are young guys that want to make our statement in this program. We believe that we have a lot to show. We believe the fans are going to see things they have not seen in a while.
Q: What are your thoughts on Coach Young's defense?
A: He is a real good coach. He is real laid back. He is a players coach. He is one of those coaches that you can go and talk to. He is kind of old school, but he still knows how to interacting with the young guys. As far as his scheme, I like it a lot. He moves the defensive line around a lot and lets us used our athleticism to make plays.
Q: What is your weight at now?
A: I am at 260. I played at 245 last year. The new weight is helping me a lot. It makes it a lost easier to take on blockers.
Q: What would you say your strengths are as a defensive end?
A: I bring athleticism and speed. I feel I am very quick and I never stop coming.
Q: How is the competition this spring?
A: There is a lot of competition this spring. There seems to be a battle at every position. Nobody on this team has a starting spot and we are all competing and working hard.
Q: How is the progression at the defensive end position coming along?
A: We are progressing a lot. Ojomo is impressing everybody. He is coming on real strong. Allen Bailey is going real well also. It is more impressive when you realize it is his first time playing defensive end. They are going to be real special.
Q: What are your goals for this upcoming season?
A: I just want to make plays. I want to be a team player and make the other defensive ends better.
