RB Has Interesting News

This standout running back is coming off an excellent senior season and now he has interesting recruiting news to share.

At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Stockton (Calif.) Edison standout running back Lynell Hamilton enjoyed an outstanding senior season, although it ended on a sour note.

"We finished 9-1 and were playing real well," he said, "but since we're on probation, we can't get into the playoffs."

Hamilton was very impressive this season.

"Even though I missed three games with a hip pointed, I still rushed for 1,048 yards and 13 touchdowns," he said. "I averaged about 10.3 per carry."

Hamilton said he's ready to move on.

"It's going to feel different without football," he said. "I'm going to enjoy the recruiting stuff then start getting ready for track. I ran a 10.7 last year and I want to make it to the state meet this year."

Hamilton provided an update on the recruiting process.

"I really enjoyed my visit to Oregon," he said. "They showed me a great time and they really feature the tailback in that offense. I leave for Colorado tomorrow. I'm going up there for a trip. The only other one I know for sure right now is Michigan."

Hamilton had been listing the Hurricanes in previous interviews.

"I really like Miami but I don't know what happened," he said. "They haven't even been calling anymore. It's been over a month since I last heard from them. I guess they decided to go after other running backs."

Hamilton said in addition to the three schools he plans to visit, he's still considering a few others.

"I talked to the coaches from Oklahoma last night and I think I'm going to visit there too," he said. "I'm not sure yet on my last one. It might be to one of the schools out there, like UCLA, USC, or Fresno State."
