Did Canes make cut for 4-star TE?

Brock DeCicco is a four-star tight end prospect from Pittsburgh who landed an early offer from the Hurricanes. CanesTime.com caught up with DeCicco to discuss the latest.

"We went 16-0 and won a state title last year so the bar has been set pretty high again this year," Brock DeCicco said. "Our goal hasn't changed -- it's to win it all again."

DeCicco, 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, has developed into one of the nation's top tight end prospects. He landed a large number of offers early on and recently cut his list down.

"This Friday I'm going to Iowa for an unofficial visit and then on Saturday I'm going to Wisconsin," he said. "I might check out Illinois on Sunday but I'm not sure yet. My final decision is between Pittsburgh, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin and they have all offered me a scholarship."

The talented tight end prospect talked about some of the things he'll be looking for when it comes time to make that decision.

"How I get along with the coaches, the program itself, and how the team uses the tight ends," he said will be the most important things.

Miami was one of the schools that made his initial cut after the Canes offered him in the spring. They're no longer under consideration, however.

"I was looking at them but not any more," he said. "They already have a couple tight ends committed and plus, that's just so far away that it wasn't gonna work out. They're a great program with a lot of tradition at tight end but it wasn't for me."

Inside the classroom, DeCicco carries a 3.2 GPA and scored "nearly a 1000" on the SAT.
