Position switches taking place

When fall camp opened up on Saturday at the University of Miami, several players were at different positions than what was expected going in. CanesTime.com has all the updated info.

It's always interesting to see what positions the incoming freshmen line up at and a lot of eyes were on those guys today.

* Marcus Robinson and Ramon Buchanan were both four-star linebacker recruits on Scout.com but both started their UM careers playing different positions. Robinson lined up at defensive end, while Buchanan started out playing safety.

* A lot of fans were wondering which side Benjamin Jones would play. He started out at right tackle today.

* Freshman Vaughn Telemaque started out playing safety, despite talk of him coming in as a corner.

* Sophomore Kylan Robinson was listed as a running back on the official roster, which was released last week. He was one of nine linebackers on Saturday, three of whom are seniors.

* Sophomore Tervaris Johnson, who started his UM career in the secondary, was switched to tight end this summer and started practicing there today.

* Ryan Hill, who started his UM career in the secondary before getting switched to wide receiver soon after his arrival, was back on defense. He was playing both corner and safety.

* Freshman quarterback Taylor Cook was also practicing punting on Saturday. He was a successful punter in high school so it's no real surprise.
