Cooper confident going into season

Graig Cooper will be a key part of Miami's offense this season and he's off to a strong start this fall. caught up with him to talk about a number of things surrounding the team. You don't want to miss what he's saying!

Q: How is fall practice going so far?

A: It is going well. We are working hard and competing. We have a lot of good backs and we are pushing each other.

Q: The Coaches have talked about using you and Javarris in the passing game. What are your thoughts on that?

A: I think it can be a good situation. We can make plays in space so I think it would be a very good thing for our offense.

Q: Do you see you guys play on the field together a lot this year?

A: I think so. We can complement each other well. We are willing to block for each other and we go as hard as we can to help each other out on the field.

Q: How are you adjusting to the added weight?

A: I am feeling good. I am real comfortable with the added weight. It was just about me becoming a better player and being bigger and faster is going to help me.

Q: Do you feel the running game has to help to take pressure off the young QBs?

A: I do not see them as young quarterbacks. They are playing so we are expecting them to be great. We need to run the ball to be a good team, but it is not because our QBs need the attention off them.

Q: How do you think the QBs are doing?

A: They are doing well. They are doing their job out there and making plays. People are going to find out our QBs can play. All the talk is about the running backs, but our QBs and WRs are going to surprise some people.

Q: You said one of your goals was to become a better blocker. Do you see yourself progressing as a blocker?

A: Yes I do. I am working on it every day and I am getting my technique down. I think I can be a great blocker and I will not stop working until I am.

Q: What are your expectations for the team this year?

A: I am not going to say anything. What I say does not matter. We are just going to keep working and everyone will see for themselves this season.

Q: Are there any differences on this team from last year?

A: We are a lot closer. I can not really point to what happened, but we are much more united. We are like a family. We are all in it for each other.
