Chambers steps up

The depth chart at Miami is slowly coming together, especially at running back where alongside Javarris James and Graig Cooper players like Lee Chambers are looking to help the team in any way they can. CanesTime.com caught up with Lee talked about his big game as well as the state of the team.

How do you feel about your big night?
My night was good because of the offensive line. If the offensive line and the wide receivers block downfield big things happen. It was a team effort because we were able to drive up and down the field as a team, it was a whole effort. The offensive line blocking and the receivers moving the football is what made it happen.

How do you feel your performance enhanced your placement on the depth chart?
I just did my part in helping out the offense getting better. It is up to the coaches who is where on the depth chart, it doesn't matter to me, I just want to help the team.

Where did you improve upon during the off-season?
During the off-season the team really bonded. Everyone was helping one another. For example when one person was tired the teammates were right there in your ear telling you to keep going, we need to work hard, we need to win, and it was my teammates who helped me out most during the off-season in getting better.

Who else on offense had big nights?
The whole offense was just clicking. Actions speak louder than words.

Do you feel as though the team is developing any kind of identity in the off-season, so far?
This is all about team, there won't be one player who stands out when the team succeeds. We are the Miami Hurricanes, we are going to get things done, that is all I have to say about that.

Talk about the young guys and how they are progressing.
I am very impressed with the young guys. They've come in and are doing everything they can to help the team out. Everyone is impressed with how the young guys are coming along.

How are they adapting off of the field?
They have come in and worked hard represented the U hard. They come in and have picked it up just like that and now we are working all together to get it done.

Do you feel you are exactly where you need to be, with two weeks before the season starts?
I mean, we are pretty good right now, but you need to take another step every day and get better. We can get better every day because you will never be as good as you want to be.

Where will you like to see this team at in 13 days?
I just want to see everyone step up and be accountable and play as a team. If we do, we'll win. We don't want to see any man left behind.

Talk about the development of the running backs.
I'm excited to see the running back rotation. We are all great backs and Coach Rob(inson) works us hard to keep us working hard. I'm excited to see how it turns out and how the rotation looks on gameday.
