Interesting advice from former players

Brandon Harris was one of several players on Miami's roster who was heavily recruited by the Florida Gators coming out of high school. Now the talented freshman is gearing up for a big game against them on Saturday. Read on to see what Harris is talking about, including some very interesting advice he and teammates have been getting from former players.

On his tackle for loss play versus Charleston Southern…
That was the play showed me I was ready to play on a college level. It gave me the confidence I needed to go into a game like Florida. It gave me a lot of confidence.

On the big game feel and disrespect from the media…
I am very excited, the team is real excited to play Florida. No one is really giving us a chance in this game. We were up in the player's lounge watching Sportscenter and they had us losing by 40 and 50 points, it was frustrating because we are all working hard and we want to go out there and prove everybody wrong. We are a talented football team regardless of the record last year. We really think we have a championship caliber team and the lack of respect we get from sports writers and ESPN networks make everyone want to work a little harder.

On statements made by Florida WR Louis Murphy
We now just know how much they disrespect us in their house, so we are very excited to play them. The upperclassmen know how important the Florida game is, so they are passing it on to us. We are excited to take those words and throw it right back at them.

On what former Hurricanes are telling the current team…
Florida doesn't beat Miami. Despite the record, it doesn't happen. Despite what goes on, it doesn't happen. Despite the great teams that Florida has put together we just beat them.

On being the underdog…
We feel like underdogs. They have put together a great team and had a great recruiting class just like we had. They also have a lot of experience on offense and defense. While we feel like the underdog but that won't effect the way we come out and play.

On seeing games in The Swamp as a high school recruit…
I've been to two. Tennessee game and Auburn game, and then I went to see them play versus LSU (at LSU). It was very exciting. They are very loud up there and the fans really try to make it hard on the players of the opposing game as they get off the bus until the kickoff. Our team is focused on that and blocking out the crowd and remembering our assignments.

On the Florida fans…
They just totally disrespect the other team and don't care what they say, they just love to get you. Whatever they have to do to get the other team out of it.
