Bosher enjoys all his duties

Hurricanes kicker Matt Bosher converted a 50 yard field goal attempt against the Florida Gators two weeks ago. The sophomore also made several big tackles on special teams that had Miami fans jumping out of their seats. Read on to see what Bosher had to say about his performance so far.

You've been doing all the kicking so far this season and last game you had a few big tackles as well. What was that like?
"Everybody on the team is doing really well. I just want to be a part of the team and do everything the coaches ask of me. If it's tackling, I'll do it. Whatever they need."

You performed well at Florida but Texas A&M is also known for being a rowdy environment.
What's it going to be like to kick at Kyle Field? "It's going to be a big game. It's a big stadium and their fans are supposed to be crazy. I can't wait to get there. It's exciting."

How much more pressure is there when you kick in a hostile environment?
"You just have to take each kick the same. Go out there with a blank mind and treat it like it's practice."

You obviously don't shy away from contact. Have you always been so aggressive on special teams?
"I just do everything I can. I do whatever the coaches ask me to. I kick the ball and if I have to make a tackle I'll make the tackle."

It's rare to see kickers making good hits. What's it like to be a kicker blowing up opposing returners?
"It feels good. I'm not going to lie, it's fun to make a tackle especially because I never get to hit people. When I get to make a tackle, I get pumped up and I get really happy."

Your shoes are hard to miss out on the field. What made you choose those shoes?
"I just wanted to find something that kind of went with the colors. It wasn't supposed to stand out. They're pretty shiny I guess but I just wanted to find something that looked good and felt good."
