Thomas is ready for the call

Senior running back Derron Thomas is coming off a solid performance against Florida and with starter Javarris James out for tomorrow's game against Texas A&M, Thomas will likely have a lot of opportunities again. He's ready for the coaches to call his name.

Q: With James getting hurt that gives you more opportunities. How do you feel about that?
A: That is just football. Guys are going to get hurt and other guys are going to have to step up. I just prepare every day like I am going to start so that I will be ready when I get my opportunity.

Q: How is the confidence level of this team?
A: Our confidence is high. We had a bye week to recover and we had a good week of practice. We are just taking it one game at a time and focusing on Texas A&M.

Q: Do you see this offense improving?
A: Yes I think so. We are a young team so we are going to get better every day. We have great coaches and talented players now it is just about getting it done.

Q: What do you know about Texas A&M?
A: They have a good defense. They are from the Big 12 and they are very physical. They are no different than some other defenses we have seen so we will be ready.

Q: Does playing at Florida help you this week?
A: I think so. It got us used to a loud crowd. We got our silent count down and we will be ready. I have played at Clemson, Doak, and Florida (so) it will not bother me.

Q: Why will you guys be better this week?
A: We have had a few weeks to get better and we will be. We are all concentrating on doing our jobs. We are going to make plays and score touchdowns.

Q: Do you feel this team can win the ACC?
A: I think so. We just have to worry about ourselves though. We just need to win every game and not worry about what other teams are doing.

Q: Do you see this as your biggest opportunity so far?
A: I don't really look at it that way. I just work hard ever day and I am going to give it my all when I am out there.
