Standout DE Ready for Visits

This standout defensive end prospect is ready to take his official visits. Read on to find out where Miami ranks on his current list of favorites.

At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Sugar Land (Texas) Dulles standout defensive end Tim Washington finished up his season at 8-3, even though he missed several games.

"I broke my foot in the sixth game," Washington said. "So I really only played in five games. I have a cast on it now and trying to rehab it. I'm not going to play basketball but I should be 100-percent real soon."

Washington, who's waiting for test scores to return, said the recruiting process is starting to heat up now that the season's over.

"It's going OK," he said. "I sit here trying to think where I might end up. [A college coach] is coming by here to visit with me tomorrow."

The standout defender recently took his first official visit.

"I went up to Oklahoma and had a real nice time," he said. "That's tight up there, ya know. I really enjoyed myself. I have Ohio State and Florida next."

Washington said his decision will likely come down to those three schools. Texas and Miami were schools on his previous list.

"Basically, I want to leave the state of Texas. I told them that and I made sure they knew about it. I still like Miami a lot but I haven't heard from them in a long while now. I guess they're too deep at my position or something. But then again, they're deep everywhere. They're good, REAL good. That's why I don't have a visit there right now."

So what if the Hurricanes were to offer a visit?

"I'd go if they wanted me to," he said. "They have a great program and they seem to be cleaning house right now both on the field and in recruiting."
