OL Picks Irish Over Canes

This elite offensive line prospect chose Notre Dame over Miami as his college choice. He talks about what the determining factor was in his decision process.

At 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham standout offensive lineman Ryan Harris made his decision today.

"It's Notre Dame baby," Harris told me. "I'm all Irish right now. "You have no idea how difficult a decision this was. I'm glad I was able to get it over with."

Harris said his final decision came down to Miami and Notre Dame.

"I was really torn between the two of them," he said. "I can't say enough how much I loved Miami. The people, the coaches, the players, everything. It was awesome. But I loved everything about Notre Dame too. I knew I couldn't pick both of them."

Harris said there was one moment that sort of clinched it for Notre Dame.

"I read an article about the head of that electrical company coming to recruit a football player [after graduating from Notre Dame]," he said. "That really did it for me. The level of the degree is incredible. Miami is a great university and I loved it there but that's basically what it came down to."

Harris had in-home visits with Stanford, USC, Notre Dame, and Michigan this week and will host Notre Dame again next week.

"I'm done," he said. "No more visits, no more anything. I'm going to Notre Dame."
