Super DE Takes 3rd Visit

This talented defensive end took his third official visit this past weekend and provides an update. Read on to find out where the Hurricanes stand.

At 6-foot-6 and 255 pounds, Miami (Fla.) Braddock standout defensive end Tranell Morant made his third official visit of the year this past weekend.

"I went up to Rutgers," he said. "It was cool, I liked it. They show you all the good stuff. I think they're real close to turning it around. Once they start winning, people will like them. I was surprised at the number of Florida guys they have on the team."

Morant said he's starting to get a little tired of the recruiting process now.

"It was my third visit and it's all starting to feel the same now," he said. "Going to a school, hanging out and going to the hot spots then coming in late, it's all the same."

Morant will take his fourth visit to Florida this coming weekend.

"That'll be my last one for awhile," he said. "I'm going to take it easy for awhile then take my last visit to Miami in January."

Morant, who goes to UM on the 24th, said he's scheduled to receive an in-home visit with UM coach Randy Shannon later this week.

"Coach Shannon said he's coming by this week but I don't know exactly which day yet," he said. "Auburn and Rutgers were here last week and the coach from Georgia is coming to the school tomorrow."

So where does the super talented defensive end, who registered 20 sacks in his first full year of football, stand?

"They're all even to me at this point," he said. "I'll take those last two [trips] and then make a decision."

Interestingly, Morant spent some time with fellow UM recruit Nate Robinson on his visit this weekend.

"I talked with Nate some," he said. "He's a big guy. He's about 6-5 and real thick. He's a real good guy, I liked him."

Robinson will be making his official visit to UM in two weeks.
