UM in Good Shape with DB

This super defensive back prospect made an unofficial visit to Miami this past weekend and will visit officially later this month. Read on to find out what he liked most about the trip, the highlight of it, and where the Hurricanes rank on his current list.

At 6-feet and 180 pounds, Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White standout defensive back Dee Webb enjoyed an unofficial visit to Miami this past weekend.

"I had been scheduled to go to Florida for my actual visit," Webb said, "but I decided to go watch Miami play instead. It was awesome."

Webb talked about what he liked most about the trip.

"I got a chance to watch a great game," he said. "I was rooting hard for Miami. They've always been my team. I was paying close attention to the way the safeties were playing. They're big and really fast. I think I would fit in really well to what they're doing there with the secondary."

The standout defensive back, who had an in-home visit with UM coaches earlier this week, said the highlight of the visit was when he got a chance to meet former UM head coach Jimmy Johnson.

"Everyone knows about Jimmy Johnson," he said. "I got to meet him and that was cool. I'd seen him on TV before. They got a lot of tradition there."

So what's the latest on the recruiting front for Webb?

"Well, I've said all along that I'll be staying in-state and that's what it looks like," he said. "I'm going for my official visit to Florida this weekend, then Miami next."

So will Webb have a decision made by the end of the month?

"I have a visit scheduled for Florida State in January, but I dont know if I'll make it," he said. "I might have a decision ready after my trip to Miami. It's probably going to be out of Miami or Florida."

Webb will be playing in the Cali-Florida All-Star game on Jan. 4.
