Cane recruits advance in playoffs

Several Hurricane recruits were in action around the state of Florida in the third round of the state playoffs. While some saw their seasons end on Friday night, others will move on.

In Class 6A, Sanford Seminole (Andre Debose, Dyron Dye, and Ray Ray Armstrong) defeated Apopka and will play Boone in the state semi's next week.

Staying in Class 6A, Miramar knocked off Denard Robinson's Deerfield Beach team.

In the final 6A game involving UM recruits, two-time defending champion Miami Northwestern (Todd Chandler) knocked off Miami Killian, ending Lamar Miller's high school career.

In Class 5A, St. Thomas Aquinas (Brandon Linder) blew out South Fork.

In Class 4A, tight end recruit Orson Charles scored two touchdowns to lead Plant in a big upset win over arch-rival Armwood, who knocked Plant out of last year's playoffs.

Finally, in Class 3A, Kayvon Webster's Monsignor Pace team defeated Naples for the second time this season. Naples, last year's 3A state champs, knocked Pace out this time last year.
