"I'm a mama's boy so I'm staying in Florida. Ever since I took a visit it felt like I was at home," Armstrong said.
Armstrong, 6'3" and 210 lbs, is playing in the UnderArmour All American game tonight. Armstrong chose the Hurricanes over Florida, LSU, Georgia, Florida State, and many others who also offered him scholarships.
Armstrong, who led his team to the class 6A championship this season, had a great week of practice in Orlando this week and this is a major coup for the Hurricanes. One of the most heavily recruited prospects in the state of Florida, he becomes Miami's second safety commitment, joining fellow UnderArmour All-American and three star recruit Prince Kent.
