UM Closing in on Commitment

The University of Miami is hosting a big recruiting weekend starting on today and some of the kids could end the weekend with a commitment.

One of those players is Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely standout offensive lineman Andrew Bain.

"I'm probably going to go ahead and commit for sure on my visit," Bain said. "Miami's always been the place I wanted to go and now that I have a chance to, I dont think I'll be able to pass it up."

Bain currently favors the Hurricanes over Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, and NC State.

"I've already visited NC State and I have January visits scheduled to the other schools," he said. "I dont know if I'll take them or not. I told Ohio State [about the commitment] and they said they'd still like to bring me in for a visit."

Bain will join teammates Cyrim Wimbs and Tyrone Moss on UM's commitment list.

"It's good that we'll be playing together because we've played our years here together," he said. "They're good guys to have on your team and it'll be fun to continue having that at UM."

Bain could end up being one of several players from Broward County that sign with UM.

"It's a great year here," he said. "We have six or seven guys on our team that will go D1 and three of us will be going to Miami. They've also gotten the linebacker from St. Thomas and the guy from Chaminade."

The standout lineman said it'll take a bad trip to decide against the Hurricanes.

"The only way I wont commit is if I feel really uncomfortable on my visit," he said. "With my parents going down there with me and everything, I dont see that happening though."

Following his visit to UM, Bain said he will take a week off before preparing for the CaliFlorida all star game.

"I'll take a week off and then start getting ready," he said. "We going to win it again. I am looking forward to it."
