DB Ready for Visit

This talented defensive back prospect comes in today for his official visit to Miami. He attended the Virginia Tech game as an unofficial visitor and talks about the Hurricanes and why he favors them.

At 6-feet and 180 pounds, Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White standout defensive back Dee Webb is scheduled to visit UM starting Friday.

"I am really excited about it," Webb said. "That's the visit I have waited for. I've been [to Miami] before but not for an official visit."

Webb was in UM earlier this month for an unofficial visit.

"I was at the Va Tech game and I was all loud and stuff cheering for Miami," he said. "They made it close but Miami just had too much speed. That's what I like. That's why I think I can fit in."

Webb made an official visit to Florida last weekend and has visits scheduled to FSU and North Carolina in January.

"I went down to Gainesville and it was tight," he said. "I really like the coaches and it's a good program. The visit went real well and gave me more reason to like them. Now it's Miami's turn."

The standout safety said he's unlikely to even make it into the month of January.

"I'm thinking about making my decision after my trip to Miami," he said. "Them and Florida are my top two and it'll probably be out of them."

Webb, who will be honored as Defensive Player of the Year in Jacksonville on Sunday, has already had in-home visits from both UM and Florida.

The talented defender will be playing in the CaliFlorida Bowl next month.
