UM Lands Commitment

At 6-foot-3 and 350 pounds, Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely standout offensive lineman told me on Thursday that he was going to make a commitment to UM this weekend. It happened today.

"I committed to UM," Bain said moments ago. "I pretty much knew all along that's where I wanted to go. With Cyrim and Tyrone going there too, it made things easier."

Bain said he had a great time this weekend.

"We all hung out together and had a great trip," he said. "There were a lot of good guys out there on visits and we all had a good time together."

Bain was asked which recruit he found most interesting.

"I met the Nate cat from New Jersey," he said. "He was real funny. He was cracking me up."

Bain picked the Canes over FSU and Ohio State.

"Basically, it's the best situation for me," he said. "The future is real bright and I think we're just going to reload with another great recruiting class this year. Hopefully we can continue winning like they are now."

The standout lineman said he got a chance to look at the depth chart.

"They're losing some guys and they're bringing some back," he said. "They have one senior guard starting and one sophomore. The other guys haven't played much yet so hopefully I can go in and compete with them."

Bain joins Cyrim Wimbs, Derrick Morse, John Rochford, and Kevin Williams as UM offensive line commitments.
