TE Enjoys UM Visit

This standout tight end prospect visited Miami last weekend and came away very impressed. So how did it compare with his current leader? Read on to find out.

At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, tight end Louis Irizarry made his official visit to the University of Miami last weekend.

"It was tight," he said. "I went down there with my Dad to see how it stacked up against Ohio State. We both liked what we saw."

So how does UM stack up to the in-state Buckeyes?

"I dont really know," he said. "We're going to have to sit down and compare. If I don't go to Ohio State, I like Miami. I'm committed to Ohio State right now but Miami gave me something to think about."

Irizarry said he saw several things he enjoyed in Coral Gables.

"The weather was perfect," he said. "I got home and it's 30 degrees here. Big diffefence (laughing). The facilites were real nice too. Plus I like how tight the players are with each other. I hung out with Kellen Winslow and Willis McGahee and that's something they talked about too. The players are real tight like that and it's probably why they're so successful."

The standout tight end said he is finished with his visits and will now sit down and make a final decision.

"I'm comparing everything to Ohio State at this point," he said. "Coach Stoops and Chud came by here earlier this month and talked to me and the family and I really like them. I'll sit down and look at everything, then hopefully watch a great game between the two next month."

Irizarry was one of two standout tight ends visiting UM this weekend.

"I met a guy named Greg Olsen too," he said. "He was cool. He told me he's going to choose between Miami, Notre Dame, and Tennessee."
