Q&A with Mike James

Mike James is one of six true freshmen already enrolled at the University of Miami from the Class of 2009. CanesTime.com spoke to him about how spring has been going so far. Read on to see what he's saying.

On his favorite play from the scrimmage:
"I would have to say that the one I got for a first down, down in the redzone, the screen. that helped my team a lot so I feel that one was the best one. I contributed on that."

On how much being here for the spring helped:
"It helps a lot, totally, totally. I mean I can adapt to the game, adapt to the speed, line up in the play, take a hit, see what it feels like, I feel great coming in for the spring."

On whether or not he plans on attending his high school prom:
"I'm going back and forth on if I should go or not. I don't want to miss anything down here. If I'm going to miss class or anything, then I'm not going to go, but I might go."

On what his thoughts are on the depth chart:
"Right now wherever I am on the depth chart isn't going to make a difference. Doesn't matter if I'm first, or third, or fifth, I just want to be there to make a diffence for the team. I feel I have a good chance of getting on the field, to help out the team and do some things."

On whether he feels 100% adjusted already:
"Not 100%, I wouldn't say that. I'm doing a good job with the speed and everything but I wouldn't say I'm 100% yet."

On how he's fit in with the team thus far:
"They are wonderful guys. Just the other night we went out to eat and it was just awesome. They take me in. I love the offensive line, I love the defense, I love the team. Everyone treats me like a brother, so that's what I love about it."
