Super WR Not Close

At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson standout wide receiver Andre Caldwell made his second recruiting visit of the season this past weekend.

"It was nice," Caldwell said of his visit to Florida. "I had a good time. They basically showed us around, I hung out with some guys, and talked to the coaches. They was just basically saying how I can go in there and help them out."

The talented receiver, who visited Southern Cal in December, will head down south this weekend.

"I'm looking forward to Miami," he said. "With Andre Johnson leaving, it just opens up more room for someone new to go in there and help."

Caldwell will likely hang out with new UM quarterback Kyle Wright on his visit.

"I've talked to him a few times," he said. "He's a real cool guy. I saw him at the all star game and he was basically telling me how he'd like to have me as a receiver at Miami."

Caldwell said he will likely wait until signing day to make a final decision. He is scheduled to visit LSU and Florida State later this month, although his decision will likely come down to the Canes and Gators.

"I'm really not even close," he said. "They're all good schools. There isn't one that is ahead or anything like that. I basically want to take [my trips] and then figure out where is best for me."

The standout receiver insists the fact that his brother, Reche, played at Florida will not factor into his decision.

"We talk sometimes but it's not about college stuff," he said. "He's always telling me football stuff like how to run certain routes and stuff like that. He knows it's my decision."
