"Things didn't work out between myself and Miami," McBride said. "They pretty much stopped calling me and it was tough because I've wanted to go to Miami since I was real small."
McBride said he had been favoring UM the entire year up until now.
"I may have gotten a little too stuck on them," he said. "When they hadn't called as much, I sat down and talked about it with my family. That's when I realized that Miami wasn't part of my future. But I'm telling you man, I've been telling people since I was eight that I'll be a Hurricane someday. But things happen and things happen for a reason. I need to move on."
Instead of heading to Miami this weekend, McBride will see either Texas or Florida.
"It'll most likely be Florida," he said. "Texas wants me to come in and I said I would consider it but I'm probably going to visit Florida. Then next weekend I have Virginia and after that, it's time to make a decision."
The standout defensive end has already made official visits to N.C. State, Tennessee, and Ohio State.
"All three places were great," he said. "They're all top level programs that I can fit into pretty well. I'll take these last two trips and then make a decision once and for all."
