DT Looking Forward to UM Visit

At 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, River Ridge (La.) John Curtis standout defensive tackle Ryan Watson is getting closer and closer to making a final decision.

"It won't be long now," Watson said. "It's going to be a tough one but it's something I've waited this long to make so I'll make sure it's a good decision."

The standout defensive tackle has already taken two official visits and will make a third one this weekend.

"Well you know I went to Colorado last month," he said. "That was a lot of fun. They showed me a great time. The coaches were real with me and overall it was a real good visit. I was even saying that was a top one at the time. I went to USC last weekend and it was great too. They have really turned things around and I like the d-line coach. They're doing good things and I thought I fit in real well."

Watson will be making his third visit this weekend -- to LSU, followed by a visit to Miami.

"LSU is the local one," he said. "I've been looking at them for the longest. I know what they're about mostly but they just got a new coach and I'm trying to feel him out, you know. Me and Carnell are going there and then we're going to Miami together."

Watson said he's really looking forward to his visit to Miami.

"That's going to be fun," he said. "Miami's always been one of my top choices. They're going to need some help early on with the defensive line and I've had that visit set up for awhile now. What can't you like about Miami? They compete for national titles every year and they are always producing good players. I'm very high on Miami."

Does the standout tackle have a favorite at this point?

"Not really," he said. "I've gone back and forth, you know. But I'm going to take all my visits and then make [a decision]. Leaving state isn't a big deal at all to me either."

Watson will join teammate Carnell Stewart on his visit to UM.

"We're both looking at the same ones still," he said. "We also like Florida too. It'll probably work out that we end up going to the same college. But right now, we just don't know where that's going to be."
